Computer Conference and Chat

We do not believe that we can anticipate all of your questions, suggestions and problems in advance. Consequently we have included an on-line computer conference and chat room for live feedback and discussion.

Click on the computer computer conference and chat link below, and the login screen for our conference / chat system will pop up. The first time you log in to this system, you will make up a UserName and Password for yourself. Be sure to remember these for later use, or you will (promise!) end up confusilating yourself. If you have logged on to the CLL Conference and Chat system before, in a class or other setting, use your previous UserName and Password.

New users will be asked to fill out an on-line information form; name, email address, UserID and Password are required (these will be marked with red bullets); everything else is optional.

• Go to the login for the computer conference and chat.

In the conference system, you can

• See a list of new postings since the last time you logged on, click on links to these postings and read them
• Search the conference for the subject you are interested in
• Post a message as a new major topic for conference discussion
• Reply to an earlier posting, quoting that message if you want (Reply Vs Reply/Quote)
• Look at the list of earlier postings and replies

The key to a useful on-line conference is good organization, so that others can find the topic they are looking for. Please be careful to make your postings accordingly. We reserve the right to reorganize postings to improve the organization of the content.

Any Web Browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer can be used to participate in the conference. To participate in the on-line chat,

• Other people must be participating at the same time
• You must have a Java-enabled Browser, such as Netscape 3.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher.
