Three Free Tutorials
for WSU's
Math Proficiency Exam (MPE)
When? Saturday, 4:00-6:00 p.m.: Oct. 4, Oct. 25, Nov. 15
Where? 124 Manoogian Hall, Wayne State University, Detroit
What to bring? Scientific calculator (recommended approved
model: TI-36X SOLAR)
Do I need to pre-register? NO. If interested, simply show up
on time
Do I need to pay? NO. All CLL students can attend free of
charge
Should I be there on time? YES. Latecomers, or people who
missed the first tutorial entirely, would not be able to derive maximum benefits from
these three tutorials. If you can't get there by 4:00 p.m., or if you must miss the first
tutorial, take all three tutorials during the Winter Term (if they are offered)
Topics? First tutorial: a diagnostic test; discussion of
general strategies for taking the MPE; a preliminary review of a few topics. Second and
third tutorials: additional, more advanced, topics
How can I prepare for these 3 tutorial? Learn to use the
calculator, especially powers, roots, fractions, percent, metric conversions, binary
numbers
Can I buy a coursepack? Yes ($10)
Who should consider attending? Anyone who has not yet taken
WSU's Mathematics Proficiency Examination
