Frank' Prospectus
Copy the file C:\STUDENTS\SCTN571\PROPSECT.WPS to your floppy diskette. In Windows Explorer, highlight the file copy on your floppy diskette and use the File / Rename menu item to rename the file PROSPEC2.WPS. Then make another copy of the file from the C: drive to your floppy diskette. The renamed file copy will be your backup copy, in case you make a lot of mistakes below and want to start over again.
In Microsoft Works, open the file PROPSECT.WPS (the copy on the floppy diskette). Save the file back to your floppy diskette under the name FPXXXNNN.WPS, where XXX are your initials and NNN are the last three digits of the section number for GST2710 (see top of directions). Make the modifications below to the file, starting from the word "Prospectus" at the the top of the page. Do not include these directions in your file.
1. Center and underline the word "Prospectus"
2. Use the indent function to indent the paragraphs that begin with
| "Franks Fruit Stand and..." | |
| "Frank's Fruit Stand and..." | |
| "On the Computer Side..." | |
| It also has an exclusive..." | |
| "As one can see by..." | |
| Also, make each of the paragraphs double-spaced. |
3. Change the font and size to Times New Roman, 10 point.
4. Using Center Tabs, place "1990" at 2.5", "1991" at 3.5" and "1993" at 4.5"
5. Change "1993" to "1992"
6. Using decimal tabs, line up the numbers for each category under the years, using the ruler. For example, using the Computers category, place the $1.5 at 2.5", $2.7 at 3.5" and $3.8 at 4.5". Repeat for each category.
7. Center the line that begins "All figures are...". Change the font and size to Times New Roman 9 point.
8. Italicize the words "World Business Year."
9. Check the spelling using the spellchecker.
10. Place your name, section number and date into the Header of the document. See MS Works Step by Step Pg 42 for help in making a Header.
11. Print out and turn in a copy of the final document.
