Dilbert is alive and well… I think
he works in the cubicle next to me…
I work at the United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments
Command (USATACOM, or TACOM for short) in Warren MI.
Most people think of it as “the tank plant”, but not
many realize there is a “Materiel Command” located there. The tank plant itself has been closed for a
number of years, but the Command is still there.
I work in the Materiel Fielding and Training
(MF&T) organization, specifically for New Equipment Training (NET).
Our mission is to deliver the new equipment, and give
the soldiers operator and maintenance training for it. We provide the Unit Commander with his
initial operational capability (IOC)”.
You can learn more about TACOM by visiting the Web
Site at http://www.tacom.army.mil
My mailing address at work is:

The mission of my organization is to provide fielding support
and training as new army systems are fielded to soldiers.
Department or workgroup
I am the Team Leader of the construction equipment (CE),
material handling equipment (MHE), and petroleum and water systems (PAWS)
(CE/MHE/PAWS) group. Others members of
my team are, Tom Bedra, Ken Hare, Vince Porties, Jay Jackson, SSG David Felix,
and SFC Theoloneus Carter. Together we are responsible to procure and
provide training for soldiers and support personnel who operate and repair the
new equipment fielded.
We provide worldwide training of soldiers receiving
new equipment, including National Guard, Reserves, foreign countries, and other
