Update for Agenda 3
During the AGS 3340 class on Wednesday, September 22, we omitted the
following sections of Agenda 3:
- Section VI: Uploading your personal web page and any pictures to the web server
- Handout on Word Processing (Item V on Agenda 3)
- On Internet handout, section I.G. on TCP/IP protocol, and under II, sections A, B, C
and, under II.D, sections 3 and 4.
We also did something not on the agenda, as follows:
- Go to the Start button and click on Run...
- In the text line, type in cmd and tap the <Enter> key. You will get a black
window with a C:> prompt.
- Type tracert 141.217.142.149 and tape the <Enter> key. (That's a space
after "tracert".)
- You will se the list of hops from your computer to the CLL web server (141.217.142.149).
- Try another address or domain name, such as www.ibm.com to see that list of hops.
- The speed of you Internet connection is determined by the slowest link - often, which
one is busiest at that time.
