What to do with my Grade for Computers and Society, Fall 1998

This is an optional form that you can use to tell the Instructor what grade to turn in if your work is incomplete by the deadline of the Final Exam. Recall that only two late assignments will be accepted at that time, to be counted in the original grades. Please note that all work will eventually be graded and count towards at least a Change of Grade. The question here is only what to do for the original grades. (After one calendar year, the Instructor cannot accept work or change grades without an acceptable reason for why the work was late. This must normally be something like a major health problem lasting over the whole year, or at least a major part of the year.) If your work is incomplete and I do not have one of these forms from you, I will grade you on the basis of the second option, since it is easier for me and gives you more flexibility.

Options:

  1. Calculate your grade with the missing work graded as zeroes. You can graduate from WSU with a low grade in a course, even as low as an E, if your average on the other courses is high enough.
  2. Give a grade of "Incomplete" (I). An I means that you intend to make up the work and that you can do this on your own without attending a class or getting tutoring from the Instructor. You cannot graduate from WSU with an I on your record. This means that after the calendar year, you must retake the course.

What to do with my grade if my work is incomplete (must be turned in by the time of the Final Exam):

  1. Please give me a grade based on (check one):
    1. _____ Missing work graded as zeroes
    2. _____ Incomplete (I)
  2. _____ (For 1A only): If my grade would be lower than _____, give me an Incomplete (I)
