President Cheryl Ford called the meeting to order at 5:40 pm.
Present: Cheryl Ford, Deirdre West, Daniel Kortes, Luann Brennan, Johnnie Tansil, J.B. Hillman-Rushell, Howard Finley, and Ruthie Flowers.
Absent: Jackee Jones, Barb Flis, Doris Pailen, Patricia Wade-Davis, and Kimberly Jones.
Motion to approve the minutes of November 21, 2003, with corrections by Kortes, and supported by West. All voting yes. Opposing: none. Motion carried.
1. Ford requested volunteers to review the proposed CULMA Student Senate booklet, and to suggest changes/improvements to the booklet.
2. There will be a Student Leader Summit on January 29, 2004. Ford and Jones will attend.
3. Ford is still not able to make the Student Council meeting. However, it is agreed that Jones will attend the meetings in place of Ford, with Hillman-Rushell as back up.

In regards to Black History Month, Ford asked for a committee volunteer.
West volunteered to head the committee with help from Hillman-Rushell.
1. WSU upcoming events: WinterFest will take place during the fourth week of January. On January 28, 2004, our group will have a table to recruit new members, and Ford request volunteers to man the table. Kortes and Tansil Volunteered to work the table.
2. Motion by West and supported by Kortes to acquire CULMA Senate Sweatshirts. All voting yes. Opposing: none. Motion carried.

Finley took orders for
Student Senate Sweatshirts, to be in dark green with gold or yellow lettering,
and should be ready by WinterFest.

West still does not have the books in her hands.
West and Flowers will check with Student Affairs to get a read-out of our
budget.
Secretary: None
WebSite: Flowers reports that an article (Student Life) on Stuart Henry was added. In addition, Flowers will add a link on our web page for the C & IT department.
1. Article on Julie Kline in the paper “Life at Wayne”
2. There will be a Latino concert at the Student Center on January 22, 2004.
3. Flowers is in the process of putting together the Dean’s List, and will put the list on the web page as soon as the list is completed.
